10 January 2026 - 5pm

Hummingbird House is delighted to reopen on Monday 12 January 2026 with the team ready and eager to welcome and support families.

We are sorry for any distress caused by our longer than anticipated Christmas and New Year closure and thank families for their patience and understanding.

Hummingbird House is a core service of Wesley Mission Queensland, and we are committed to providing specialised paediatric palliative care to children and families across Queensland to the highest standards.

The wellbeing of the children and families we support is our first priority. During 2026 we will receive the outcomes of an independent review that we have commissioned, led by an external specialist in paediatric palliative care and bereavement, to strengthen our services and identify any opportunities for improvement at Hummingbird House. Staff and some families have been invited to share their feedback.

We sincerely thank our partners at the Queensland Children’s Hospital for helping ensure continuity of care and supporting us to reopen.
